Afrojack under the spotlight: here’s our exclusive interview!
There’s still a lot of material on our experience at Miami Music Week to publish, but after Martin Garrix’s interview, our interview with Afrojack is finally ready! He’s an artist who doesn’t need an introduction: from years at the top of the worldwide EDM scene, a fixed presence on the Mainstages of the most important international festivals, and writer of hits such as Ten Feet Tall, The Spark and Rock The House. We were invited to the release of his third G-Start collection (here are all the products in his collection). This is our exclusive interview with Afrojack!
- This is your third collaboration with G-Star: what do you prefer about this collaboration?
We’re releasing my third collection with G-Star “The Afrojack X G-Star RAW.” Substantially new t-shirts, trousers… I love this little hat, for example! We focused on trousers in this collection. I’ve tried and changed loads of them in the last year – I love comfortable trousers.
- You’ll play at Ultra in a couple of days: what do you feel are the differences between this and past editions of Ultra festivals?
Everyone asks what’ll be special about this or that year’s version: it’s simply Ultra Music Festival! We talk about Ultra Music Festival: it’s always better and it’s always the best!
- A few months ago, you performed in Milan for MTV’S EMA: looking back, how was this experience?
It was fun, but also rather short, it was only around 20 minutes. My last big show in Italy was in rome, at the Palazzo dei Congressi around 3 years ago and I said to my agent after the show “I definitely have to come back.” The support of my Italian fans means a lot to me ever since Take Over Control.
- Are there collaborations or new releases that you can tell us about?
I released Hey with Fais: basically it’s his official single that I produced. Currently I have full control over my label again: there’ll be 50 releases this year on Wall, with many of them being my productions. I’ve also got some new, more radio-friendly tracks to be released, but as you know my passion is the dance floor. Even on my set at Ultra, you’ll hear many of my productions and collaborations.
We thank Afrojack for his availability and G-Star for the invitation.
